Rod J Barnett & Associates is a Limited Liability company practicing under the style name of Rod J Barnett & Associates. Its principal director and sole shareholder is Rod J Barnett, a practitioner who continues to practice full time, since his first admission in Queensland some forty years ago.
Since his initial admission, he has been admitted in the United Kingdom, as a Solicitor of the High Court of Justice and became a partner in a practice in London specialising in Commercial and Criminal law. Upon moving to the Australia Capital Territory in 1975 he has become an admittee of the Supreme Court of the ACT, the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia.
Throughout his practicing career in the ACT, he has maintained strong links with the Law Society of the ACT, having been a member of the executive of that Society for a period in excess of 15 years, and has headed up a number of committees within that organization including, approximately 12 years on the Professional Conduct Committee. Rod became President of the ACT Law Society in September 2007 and continues in that role until September 2009. Consequently, he is now one of the past Presidents of the Law Society. Throughout his career he has been a protagonist in support of high ethical standards, expertise and courtesy in general practice.
His current practice was founded in August 1996 at its Fyshwick address, and has continued to serve the needs of the business community of Fyshwick and surrounding areas.
